The Community Home Lenders of America (CHLA) alleges FICO drastically increased credit score prices. These fee hikes for tri-merge credit reports impact both mortgage originators and homebuyers.

A FICO spokesperson countered the accusations in a report updated April 7, 2026. The company clarified that it does not sell tri-merge reports directly to lenders.

FICO sells scores to credit bureaus, which then apply individual markups. The company maintains its wholesale prices have not increased year-over-year. FICO attributes the higher costs to the pricing strategies of credit bureaus.
