Equinix plans to nearly triple its data center capacity in India by 2028. The expansion will increase total capacity to 14,000 racks. This strategic move aims to capture the country's rapidly growing artificial intelligence market.
Enterprise customers, including banks and insurance firms, drive the demand for increased data processing and storage. Manoj Paul, managing director of Equinix India, stated the company focuses on clients leveraging AI infrastructure built by cloud providers.
Equinix is also exploring sustainable solutions to address environmental challenges. The company is testing the use of treated wastewater for cooling in its facilities.
