Eni CCUS Holding, a subsidiary of Eni, has announced the successful installation of the Douglas CCS platform in Liverpool Bay. It is the world’s first purpose-built offshore platform dedicated to carbon dioxide (CO2) transportation and storage.
The installation advances the HyNet industrial decarbonisation project in the United Kingdom. The CO2 transportation and storage system is the foundation of the project, which aims to decarbonise industry in North West England and North Wales.
The development is part of Eni’s strategy to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050 through actions supporting the energy transition.
