Deutsche Telekom agreed to acquire Polish fiber operator Fiberhost and broadband provider Inea. The deal with Macquarie Asset Management carries an enterprise value of approximately €1 billion. T-Mobile Polska will lead the acquisition to accelerate its shift toward convergent services.
The transaction integrates Fiberhost’s open-access network covering over 1.4 million homes. Inea brings a retail base of more than 300,000 customers to the group.
T-Mobile Polska will combine its 5G network with the new fiber-to-the-home infrastructure. The move strengthens the company's competitive position against Polish market rivals. Polish competition authorities must still approve the transaction.
