Chevron implements Permian Basin strategies in Argentina's Vaca Muerta shale region. It aims to triple production to 195,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day by 2035.

Chevron transfers U.S. workers, equipment, and expertise to its fully-owned El Trapial block. This accelerates development in the area. El Trapial is one of the world's largest shale reserves.

The initiative is part of a larger investment plan. Chevron submitted this plan in June for government approval. It falls under Argentina's new incentive program.

The proposal outlines a $13.8 billion investment over 30 years for the El Trapial block.

Chevron plans to increase drilling rigs in the field from one to three. This increase will occur by early 2029. It could potentially bring forward production targets.
