Cintas and UniFirst have certified compliance with regulatory information requests in the United States and Canada, advancing their proposed merger toward closing.

On October 2, the companies certified substantial compliance with the U.S. Federal Trade Commission’s request for additional information. They agreed not to close the merger before December 11, 2026, unless the FTC clears it earlier.

The companies had certified their response to the Canadian Competition Bureau on September 29. UniFirst shareholders approved the transaction in June. Cintas and UniFirst still expect it to close in the second half of 2026, subject to final regulatory approvals and other customary closing conditions.
