Cisco announced its intent to acquire WideField Security, a firm specializing in identity and session intelligence. The acquisition targets security risks involving AI agents, autonomous workloads, and non-human identities.

Cisco will integrate WideField’s technology into its Splunk platform. This creates a unified view of activity across human, non-human, and AI agent entities.

This is Cisco’s third cybersecurity acquisition of 2026, following the purchases of Astrix Security and Galileo. The company aims to build an integrated trust layer for the agentic AI era. Financial details were not disclosed.
