A major fire at a Coupang logistics center in Incheon, South Korea, has burned for three days. The blaze started on the sixth floor of the eight-story facility on July 18. Authorities evacuated 121 workers and nearby residents due to building collapse risks. This warehouse is more than twice the size of the Deokpyeong facility destroyed by fire in 2021.

Industry sources estimate total damages could reach several hundred billion won, or hundreds of millions of dollars. The incident follows a significant fine recently levied against Coupang for a data breach.

Coupang is rerouting orders to other centers to minimize delivery disruptions. Some customers should expect delivery delays during the transition. Investigators will determine the cause once the fire is fully extinguished.
