Costco will open its first standalone gas stations. The first facility opens in Mission Viejo, California, in June. This location features 40 pumps. A second site will open in Honolulu, Hawaii, in 2027. Access remains exclusive to Costco members.
The initiative addresses customer complaints regarding warehouse parking congestion and pump wait times. Costco has not announced a broader rollout. The project tests member loyalty outside traditional retail stores.
