Coinbase has obtained a Financial Services Permission from the Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM) Financial Services Regulatory Authority (FSRA). The license authorizes the company to arrange investment deals and provide custody services. This approval establishes the foundation for an international hub dedicated to tokenized securities.
The hub will migrate traditional financial assets onto the blockchain, making them accessible via digital wallets rather than traditional brokerage accounts. These tokenized securities will be backed by underlying shares, providing holders with rights to dividends and voting.
This initiative is part of a broader expansion in the United Arab Emirates, which includes the development of a global derivatives hub. The move aligns with Coinbase's strategy to scale international and institutional offerings from crypto-friendly jurisdictions.
