Coinbase launched direct Indian rupee (INR) deposit and withdrawal services to expand its presence in India.

Users can now transfer funds directly from bank accounts via the Immediate Payment Service (IMPS). This update eliminates the need for complex peer-to-peer (P2P) transactions.

The expansion follows the company's formal registration with India’s Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU-IND).

Coinbase now offers fiat on-ramps, off-ramps, spot trading, and perpetual futures to retail and institutional clients. This initiative marks the company's largest push into the region since facing regulatory hurdles during its 2022 entry.
