A former managing director in Citigroup’s wealth unit filed a lawsuit alleging retaliatory firing.

The executive claims the bank dismissed her after she flagged deficiencies in know your customer checks and internal controls.

The complaint alleges these concerns arose while Citigroup considered opening a numbered, anonymous account for former U.S. President Donald Trump.

Citigroup denies the claims and states the lawsuit has zero merit.

The bank intends to defend its position through the legal process.
