Ancestry.com Inc. is seeking to refinance $1.75 billion in debt originally raised for its 2020 acquisition.
The Blackstone-owned company is offering a new term loan at 4 to 4.25 percentage points above the benchmark.
Investors are being offered the debt at a discount of 98.5 to 99 cents on the dollar.
The genealogy firm is also issuing $500 million in junk notes to support the refinancing effort.
Total proceeds will repay debt from Blackstone’s $4.7 billion purchase of the company.
The transaction follows a broader trend of junk-rated firms refinancing loans taken out in the early 2020s.
