BWX Technologies (BWXT) will build and operate its BWXT Advanced Nuclear Reactor (BANR) at Fort Campbell, Kentucky. The selection is part of the U.S. Army’s Janus program, managed in collaboration with the Defense Innovation Unit.
This initiative deploys nuclear microreactors to provide resilient energy for military installations. The Army selected five total vendors to deploy these systems across multiple defense sites.
BWXT will own and operate the reactor, marking a milestone for its proprietary technology. The project supports the company’s strategy to expand into next-generation reactor applications and advanced nuclear projects.
