Bristol Myers Squibb and partner SystImmune announced positive results from the Phase 3 PANKU-Breast01 trial of experimental breast cancer drug izalontamab brengitecan (Iza-Bren). The study enrolled patients with advanced or metastatic HR-positive, HER2-negative breast cancer who had previously received at least one line of chemotherapy.
Presented at the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) 2026 Congress, the results showed that Iza-Bren reduced the risk of disease progression or death by 59% compared with standard chemotherapy.
Median progression-free survival was 8.2 months with Iza-Bren. It was 4.0 months with chemotherapy. The drug also demonstrated a manageable safety profile.
