China’s State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission (SASAC) is reviewing the use of Broadcom networking switches in state-backed data centers.

The review supports a national initiative to reduce reliance on foreign infrastructure and prioritize domestic suppliers for artificial intelligence applications.

Internal findings indicate Broadcom hardware currently accounts for up to 90% of the switches in these facilities.

SASAC may provide informal guidance to transition from Broadcom products to domestic alternatives to strengthen technological self-sufficiency.
