Nvidia entered the personal computer processor market at the Computex conference on June 1. CEO Jensen Huang introduced the RTX Spark Superchip to challenge the long-standing dominance of AMD and Intel.
The Arm-based processor combines a Blackwell-generation GPU with a CPU co-developed with MediaTek. This hardware allows laptops and desktops to run AI applications locally.
Major manufacturers including Dell, HP, Lenovo, and Microsoft will release the first RTX Spark devices in fall 2026. These products will initially target the premium market segment.
AMD and Intel shares both fell between 5% and 6% following the announcement. The move threatens the duopoly that has controlled the Windows PC processor market for decades.
