AMD announced the Threadripper Halo Station to compete directly with Nvidia’s DGX Station.
The AI workstation features a Ryzen Threadripper PRO 9995WX processor with 96 Zen 5 cores. Users can configure the system with up to four MI350P Instinct GPUs. These components provide a total of 576GB of HBM3e GPU memory.
AMD scheduled the Halo Station for a 2027 release. The system targets developers running local AI inference on trillion-parameter models. It offers up to 2.6TB of total system memory. This capacity is 3.4 times greater than its Nvidia counterpart.
The move signals AMD’s strategy to capture a larger share of the AI hardware market through high-performance CPUs and GPUs.
