Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) introduced its personal AI strategy at the IFA 2026 conference in Berlin. The initiative aims to shift artificial intelligence workloads from cloud servers to local hardware.
The company unveiled Ryzen AI Halo systems featuring up to 192 GB of unified memory. These devices can process large AI models with up to 300 billion parameters locally. This architecture addresses cost and privacy issues inherent in cloud-based processing.
Senior Vice President Jack Huynh stated the strategy focuses on better compute rather than just raw power. AMD is partnering with Microsoft and SUSE to develop these local AI capabilities.
The announcement follows a joint venture to expand AI infrastructure in Saudi Arabia. Localized AI processing targets new market growth and expanded commercial opportunities.
