Airtel Africa selected London as the preferred venue for the 2026 Initial Public Offering of its mobile money unit, Airtel Money. Management believes a London listing provides access to a broad international investor base. The company intends to use the listing to realize the long-term value of its fintech platform.
The announcement coincided with first-quarter results for the period ending June 30, 2026. Quarterly revenue increased 31% to $1.85 billion. Pretax profit rose 32% to $360 million.
Strong performance in data and mobile money services drove the results. Annualized total processed value on the Airtel Money platform increased by 51.5%. This transaction volume now exceeds $245 billion. Shares in Airtel Africa declined slightly in London trading following the report.
