AIM ImmunoTech secured patent protection for its drug Ampligen (rintatolimod) across major European markets and the United Kingdom. This intellectual property specifically covers the treatment of Long COVID.
Market exclusivity for the drug now extends through June 2041. The European Patent Convention finalized the protection on August 25, 2026. No challenges were filed during the nine-month opposition period.
The move advances the company’s strategy to build a global patent estate. Ampligen also holds a U.S. patent for cancer treatment when combined with pembrolizumab.
