Archer Aviation announced Halo, a commercial autonomous vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL) aircraft developed with Anduril. The announcement follows the debut of the Thunder defense variant at the Farnborough International Airshow.

Both aircraft share a common airframe, hybrid powertrain, and core systems. The Halo model targets unmanned commercial logistics via low-cost, high-volume production.

Archer named Marubeni Aerospace Corporation as its strategic launch partner for Halo in Japan. The companies will conduct joint market research and identify specific use cases for the Japanese market.

This strategy leverages Archer’s air taxi technology to penetrate broader commercial and defense sectors.
