Access Holdings Plc may need to raise an estimated N656 billion in new equity capital. This requirement follows a Renaissance Capital report on the Central Bank of Nigeria's (CBN) proposed capital rules for bank holding companies.
The potential capital raise is the largest among five analyzed holding companies. It represents approximately 49.6% of the firm's current market capitalization.
The CBN's proposed framework increases required paid-up capital at the holding company level. This ensures sufficient capital coverage for subsidiaries and group-wide exposures.
Access Holdings' required paid-up capital would rise from N616 billion to N1.27 trillion under these guidelines.
