A teardown of Apple's new foldable iPhone Duo by repair firm iFixit has raised durability concerns. iFixit gave the device 5 out of 10 for repairability. That is the highest score the firm has awarded a foldable.

The analysis follows multiple reports from early adopters that the inner screen cracked along the fold, sometimes within hours of purchase.

iFixit identified a potential design flaw in the hinge mechanism as its main concern. The firm theorizes that a central support bar may not retract far enough when the device closes, creating a pressure point on the delicate screen. iFixit has not confirmed this as the definitive cause, but the reported cracks have raised questions about the device's longevity.
