Toyota Motor Corporation announced a $283 million investment to expand manufacturing in northern Vietnam. The funding will upgrade the Toyota Motor Vietnam complex in Phu Tho. This facility currently maintains a registered production capacity of approximately 52,000 vehicles per year. The expansion adds assembly lines for hybrid electric models to increase localization and develop the regional automotive hub.
Lexus premiered the updated NX compact crossover SUV on the same day. The NX model has reached cumulative global sales of approximately 1.9 million units. The updated version features an all-new hybrid system. Toyota scheduled the global market introduction for the end of 2026.
