ChangXin Memory Technologies (CXMT) secured over 10% of the global DRAM market by revenue in the second quarter of 2026. This growth marks a significant challenge to the long-standing dominance of Samsung, SK Hynix, and Micron. The company’s market share rose from 4% in the second quarter of 2025.

Strong demand and increased production capacity fueled this rapid expansion. CXMT aims to nearly double its monthly wafer production capacity by 2028. This expansion would bring its output close to the current levels of industry-second SK Hynix.

The company’s rise disrupts a sector where the top three players historically controlled over 90% of the market. Meanwhile, a South Korean court is currently hearing allegations of trade secret theft from Samsung involving CXMT.
