Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., Limited (CATL) globally launched its TENER+ ultra-high-capacity energy storage system at the All Energy Australia 2026 conference in Melbourne. [3, 4, 13]
The 9 MWh system is designed to reduce project footprints by up to 35%. [2, 7] It has a 25-year lifespan and targets grid-scale, long-duration storage projects. [2, 7]
To support its expansion in Australia, CATL signed three memorandums of understanding (MoUs). [3, 7] The agreements are with Hitachi Energy, EPEC Group, and the University of New South Wales (UNSW Sydney). [9, 11, 13]
The partnerships focus on improving project delivery and grid integration, and developing local skills for the clean energy workforce. [3, 9]
