Samsung Electronics invested $175 million in Element Biosciences on June 10. The deal establishes Samsung as the largest shareholder in the U.S.-based genomics company.
The investment was finalized during an expanded Series E financing round. This move marks Samsung’s strategic entry into the personalized medicine sector.
Samsung will combine its expertise in artificial intelligence, medical devices, and digital health with Element’s DNA sequencing and multiomics platforms. The collaboration aims to analyze RNA, proteins, and DNA to better understand genetic functions within living organisms.
