Samsung Electronics established the Robotics eXperience (RX) division as a primary growth engine. The unit reports directly to the CEO to consolidate strategy, technology development, and commercialization.
Lee Dong-kun, former executive vice president of robotics strategy at Hyundai Motor Group, will lead the new Robotics Strategy Team. Lee previously managed Hyundai’s work with Boston Dynamics.
The company will initially deploy humanoid robots at its own manufacturing sites. Future plans include expansion into the home and retail sectors.
Samsung is opening research hubs in the U.S., China, and Japan to utilize local expertise.
